Philosophy
I aim to create elegant and imaginative gardens inspired by the natural landscape.
Key themes for the design of each garden are simplicity, clean lines and good structure which is then softened by lush and scented planting. My objective is always to respond and enhance the existing landscape or space, whilst at the same time remaining true to the house, its history and its setting.
A garden is a personal thing. Whether it is traditional or contemporary, every garden is an expression of its owner. I enjoy working closely with my clients, listening to their needs to ensure that the finished garden completely reflects their wishes.
Although based in Norfolk, I work throughout the UK and London. My projects range from small contemporary spaces to large country gardens.
Background
Following my first degree in Geography at Newcastle University, I completed a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture at Greenwich University.
My career began in London; first as a project manager at Alasdair Cameron Landscapes, a design company based at The Chelsea Gardener, and secondly with Patrick James at The Landscape Agency.
I then moved to Norfolk and spent four years working with leading garden designer George Carter. My experience as a landscape architect ranges from historic parks, streetscapes and community projects.
I have always loved gardens and the outdoors, and draw much inspiration from the big, wide Norfolk landscape that is home. I live on a family farm with my husband and three young children.
I set up my own design practice in 2002.
